ADHD IN CHILDREN
There are specific techniques to help a child manage ADHD. In one session, these techniques can either be taught to the parent who then teaches them to the child, or can be taught to the child directly. These techniques will be effective if the child really wants to do them and really wants to manage his or her ADHD.
The ongoing process of coaching the child to make the techniques a habit and apply them when needed will be more successful if the parent and child have a relationship that allows for that cooperation.
